Hell's Gate by Benjamin Daniels

Today we have the pleasure of visiting with Benjamin Daniels author of Hell's Gate. Hi Ben,  I'm glad that your visiting. Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hell's Gate (Seventh Seal)

Ben Daniels

I’m 30 years young. I’m your typical guy. I love to play games, watch movies and read in my spare time. Oh yeah I probably should toss in there that I tend write a few novels every now and again too ;).
How did you decided to enter the world of writing?
I've always been interested in writing. It just took me a little while to find my niche and my writing style, once I did though it just became easy for me.
What does your family think of your writing?
I love my family and they support me in every way. There are a few of my novels that I won’t allow them to read but they are better off for it lol.
Where do you get your ideas?
I have been studying the bible for the last 13 years for reasons I won’t say here. My ideas mostly come from there. There are so many stories with so many different elements that can be pulled from it. It just takes a little imagination with a main character to give it substance.
Can you tell us a little about your book?
I try really hard to keep my books action packed and constantly going. I won’t say there aren't slow beginnings because there are. However, once it takes off it is a non-stop ride from beginning to end. It’s told in first person and completely through Cole(main character) eyes. He’s a little spontaneous to say the least. He is extremely focused but a little short sighted to the world around him. He has kept to himself during the Armageddon but fate never allows the main character to stay that way for long.
What is your writing process?
I write from the seat of my ass. I don’t plot my novels, even if I did the characters wouldn't let me follow it anyways lol. I do it on purpose though, if I know every detail which was going to happen before I write it. I would get really bored, really quickly. So I let the characters dictate the story with a general direction of where I want the story to go.
I can relate to that. What was the hardest part for you when working on your book?
The middle haha. I’m really good at writing beginnings and endings. It’s getting from point a to point be that is always the problem. I managed to stumble through it though.
What influenced or inspired you to write?
There was a very special woman in my life. She gave me the dedication and courage to write and finish the universe that you will eventually see unfold. She is no long with me but it is all because of her and there are no words I can say to ever praise her enough or give enough thanks to make it all possible.
Was there a scene that you didn’t add or you removed in your finished work?
The ending to Hell’s Gate was rewritten after one of my Beta readers didn’t like it. So the ending you read now isn’t the original ending to the book.
Do you have a favorite character (from you're book)? Why?
All of them :P. Every character in my books are a different part of my personality. So they are all a reflection of me. However, every character’s look and style are modeled after real people in my book. So is the town and the different locations in the book. You can actually find them all.
Do you already know what to write next? Can you tell us?
I’m actually working on the third installment to The Seventh Seal Series. Exsilium(book 2) will be coming out soon. I do write erotica through, and I also have a children’s book on the market along with a set of journals I wrote after my car accident. So I’m not limited to only my series. I have many things going on.
Your stories sound amazing. I'm going to put them on my to read list. Where can we find more information about you and your books?
You can always add me personally on Facebook. I love talking to all of my readers, even if you dislike the book. I don’t mind if you do or not and I will ask you the same questions I do everyone else. So I encourage my readers to come find me often. If you wish to get updates on current projects and other things I’m working on you can like my author page. www.facebook.com/Tyjeda
Do you have any last words?
Nope, because I’m not dead yet, always more to be said, just have to ask first though ;).
Ben thank you for sharing your book with us. It's a pleasure to learn more about you.
Fun Questions
I love weekends because?
I’m paralyzed and don’t work so every day is a weekend for me. No it isn’t as fun as everyone thinks it is. It becomes really boring really quickly.
I hate?
Everything equally :P
I want to buy?
The cure for paralysis, which is what all of my royalties from Hell’s Gate go to. They are doing great things. I know I won’t see it in my life time but down the road I want it to be known that I helped them get there.
My favorite song is?
I don’t have one. While I do listen to music, I pretty much listen to anything. I just can’t listen to it for entertainment. It has to flash, move, have a joystick or boobs else it isn’t going to hold my attention for long.
My favorite precious stone is?
Emerald because it is the rarest in the world and just happens to be my birthstone.
I want to travel to? Why?
I would love to Ireland home to my ancestors and where my Grandparents migrated from.
I want to meet?  Why?
My soulmate, the one I am supposed to be with. Where I can look into their eyes and just know that they are my other half.
I want to invite   -------------- to dinner. Why?
Depends, who is buying lol
My dream is to?
To not be forgotten.
My favorite book is?
A: Umm my own duh ;). Actually I love a book called Ice Limit but Douglas Preston and Lincoln child. Amazing writers, I wish I were half as good as they are.
